Inquestigate is a community for those of us who seek knowledge and understanding about issues related to justice. It’s important to ask critical questions and continue learning because the work is never done. This blog is a safe space for sharing what we learn along the way.
Land Acknowledgment for Inquestigate
As we engage in dialogue and exchange ideas here at Inquestigate, we acknowledge and respect the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded this land for generations. We recognize that our work takes place on Treaty 13A land, which is the traditional territory of The Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinabewaki, and the Attiwonderonk.
We honour the deep and enduring connections that Indigenous peoples have to this land, connections that predate the establishment of our blog. We pay our respects to their elders—past, present, and emerging—and extend our gratitude for their contributions to our community.
We also acknowledge the historical and ongoing impacts of colonisation, recognizing the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities. It is our responsibility to understand, amplify, and respect the diverse cultures, histories, and perspectives of Indigenous peoples.
As we share stories, ideas, and experiences, we commit to fostering an inclusive space that celebrates and uplifts Indigenous voices. We encourage our readers to join us in learning more about the local Indigenous communities, supporting their initiatives, and actively engaging in the journey toward reconciliation.
May our words and actions reflect a commitment to building a more just, equitable, and respectful future together on this land.
